Having a livejournal and a blog is like fighting a two-front war -- one I'm clearly losing. So I've decided that I'll restrict the LJ to
Hidden Frontier-only content, since most of my LJ friends are HF cast, crew or fans. My general commentary on the vast injustices of the world will be limited to
Cosmic Sitcom blog. Which I'll get around to writing on ... eventually.
So... today. Well, last night, actually. I rewrote the whole first scene for the series finale, "Her Battle Lanterns Lit." It's got Klingons in it. Klingons are not especially easy to write. At least if you don't want to be cliché about it. The Klingons in my original treatment I ultimately realized were far too wimpy. They simply wouldn't be doing what I imagined them doing. So I thought, why not have them do essentially the same thing, except make them
fight about it? Then, like magic, the scene worked.
Another thing, for anyone who writes screenplays. The MovieMagic Screenwriter program is awesome. So much speedier. I go through six pages in a couple hours (which is lightning fast for a screenplay, lemme tell ya). Plus its features for creating production breakdowns -- fabulous. Which comes in handy if you're also going to be directing. Which I am -- episode 604 later this spring. A big episode (actually, they all are this season), called "Beachhead." I'm hoping my pal (and goddess) Rebecca Wood (she of
Glinn Betras fame) will serve as assistant director. :: crosses fingers ::
I think I need to find myself a cave or something to ensure I find all the time I need to get caught up on screenplays for Hidden Frontier, though. I should be well into season 7 by now.
All right. More later.
